Well, this beautiful verdant orange colored flower pertaining to the plant family Zingiberaceae. All kind of gingers are from this family. The genus of this plant is Globba(derived from the Indonesian word 'galoba'). I am not sure from which species this plant belongs to. After surfing few days over internet, I have convinced to consider this as a species of schomburgkii. So the botanical name becomes Globba schomburgkii.

If I am correct about the identification, then this flower is called as Dancing Girl Ginger. This flower is native to Eastern India, Bangladesh, Thiland, Burma, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. Some people used to call this as Burmese Dancing Girl. In Bangladesh, this is known as Bhui Ada(ভুই আদা) or Jongli Ada(জংলি আদা).

This is a perennial plant and used to be dormant during the whole winter. But get in life after the spring. Flowers used to bloom during the rainy season. In this article, the flowers are advent to bloom. It's almost a callow flower.

This flower has other names such as Ginger Lily, Globba Lily. Since I didn't see a 'mature dancing girl' flower. I don't know how this flower looks like. But should be similar to other Globba flowers. Plant uses to propagate through the bulbs and sometimes through seeds, though its hard to preserve the seeds.

These photos were taken from the Rangamati(রাঙামাটি), during my tour at July 2011. If I am wrong about identifying the flower, please comment below...
